What is a
Spiritual Director?
A spiritual director, also called a spiritual companion, a spiritual guide, a soul friend, is a companion who eavesdrops on your conversation with God and directs your attention to God.
A spiritual director is a trained spiritual companion who listens to you and God as you talk about how God is present to you or absent from you.
What is a Session of Spiritual Direction Like?
- We meet for an hour once a month in person, by phone, or by Zoom.
- We talk together about your life, your questions and wonderings about your life, God, what you believe.
- how God may be inviting you to a deeper relationship.
- We take time for silence and prayer to listen for what God may be saying.
Spiritual Direction is not therapy, counseling, or mentoring.
It is a trained spiritual companion listening to a person and to God, as a person

About Jim Cyr
Jim has been on a spiritual journey since age five. His journey has taken him into pastoral ministry, crisis intervention and chaplaincy. Jim has worked with all kinds of people. He is a spiritual director trained through the Christos Center for Spiritual Formation.
